Monthly Talking Shop

Held on the last Tuesday of every month in our community room at Daisy Nook Garden Centre.

This month held on Tuesday 30th April at 10.30am.

TALKING SHOP is a FREE 1 hour talk on a different topic every month.

All attendees collect a FREE cuppa on the way in.

SID CALDERBANK – “A Lancashire Garland” A history of Lancasshire in song and readings including the work of Ben Brierley who gave the area the name “Daisy Nook”.

Sid is Chairman of the Lancashire Society and President of the Lancashire Author’s Association. he is currently on BBC TV and radio, speaking on the Lancashire dialect. Flog It!; Countryfile; Michael ortillo’s Railway Jorneys; Radio 4’s “Tongue and Talk”, the Antiques Road Trip, and he once went all the way to London to say 12 words to Shirley Bassey on the One Show!

This is a FREE event, no need to pre-book, just turn up.
